Service 03
Something to drive
in the meantime.
A car in the shop when you have a shift at six and a school run at eight is a real problem. So we rent cars too, often to the same people whose cars we’re fixing.
When people use it
Four reasons
we hear most.
Yours is in the shop
The repair takes three days. Say so when you book the work and we’ll line the two up.
You’re between cars
You sold one, the next one isn’t sorted, and the gap is two weeks. Renting is usually cheaper than rushing into the wrong car.
You need a second car for a while
Family visiting, a temporary job across town, or somebody else’s car in the shop.
You want to try one first
If you’re thinking about a kind of vehicle you’ve never owned, spend a few days in one before you buy.
What you’ll need
Nothing sprung
on you at
the counter.
Requirements, availability, rate, and mileage all get confirmed with you before anything is agreed.
A rental isn’t always the right call. If your repair is a same-day job, we’ll tell you to sit tight.
Common questions
How long can I keep it?
From a day to several weeks. Tell us at the start if you need a long stretch, because the arrangement is different from a two-day rental.
Do you have a specific car available?
Availability moves around. Tell us when you need it and what it has to do, whether that’s carrying a car seat or handling a long commute, and we’ll tell you what we can put you in.
Is it cheaper if my car is being repaired here?
Mention it when you ask. We’d rather keep you moving than have you cancel a repair because you can’t get to work.
What if I damage it?
That’s what the insurance requirement and the deposit are for, and the terms are written down before you drive off. Tell us right away if something happens.
Can I rent while I’m shopping for a car with you?
Yes. It’s easier to take your time picking a car when you’ve got something to drive.
Ask about a rental
Tell us when,
and for
how long.
Dates, roughly how far you’ll be driving, and anything the car has to be able to do. We’ll come back with what’s available and what it costs.
Rental question
No obligation. We’ll tell you if renting isn’t your best option.
